Stuart Lynam, Sales Operations Manager
Introduction
Hi, I’m Stuart Lynam and I’m the Sales Operations Manager in Halifax. My role is to support and develop the Sales team and to promote an excellent customer service experience. I constantly encourage our teams to improve their key performance and to build on our success as a department and a company.
How does Admiral support your career development?
Admiral has supported me throughout my 10 year career.For the first 6 years I was employed with the Sales Department in the Cardiff office where I seized every opportunity to learn about the company and participate in its personal development programs. Since becoming the Operations Manager in Canada in 2008, I enjoy regular feedback from my Managing Director on how the department is performing and coaching on how to support the sales department in the best way possible.
What are the rewards of your job?
I find the job extremely rewarding especially when I see the department improving or when a new employee tells me that Admiral is the best company they have ever worked for. The fact that we give full paid training, excellent benefits package and it’s such a fun, friendly place to work makes me proud to be a part of Admiral. It’s great to see the staff in Canada embracing the Admiral culture, taking on more responsibility, and advancing their careers.
What is your experience at Admiral?
I can honestly say my experience with Admiral has been life changing. The passion the leadership team has towards the company is truly infectious. When Admiral started handing out shares to its employees it was rewarding to own part of such a successful company. I have applied for a permant transfer to the Canadian office and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work in such a great city as Halifax.
What does a typical day involve?
First thing I do when I get into the office is connect with my co-workers in my department. Without these fun, motivated, professional & hard working people, Admiral would not be as nearly so successful. I appreciate this more than anything. I look at the sales figures from the previous day, arrange team meetings, provide coaching, and review ideas on how to improve the department . I feel I have a personal responsibility in creating an environment where everyone can enjoy coming to work.
