The Admiral Group sells private car insurance and related ancillary products to motorists throughout the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy and the United States. It does this through six brands in the UK: Admiral, Bell, Diamond, Elephant.co.uk, Gladiator and Confused.com. In Spain through Balumba.es, AdmiralDirekt.de in Germany , ConTe.it in Italy and Elephant.com in Virginia USA.

The Canadian office located in Halifax, Nova Scotia opened in 2007 and currently employs over 200 staff. The Halifax office provides support through the sale and renewal of policies to customers in the UK. Admiral Group recently expanded its overseas operations to include the United States in 2009. Admiral is one of the largest employers in South Wales, with nearly 3000 employees working at  three sites in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport. The first overseas operation opened in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2007 and currently employs a workforce of over 200.

Admiral currently has 1.9million customers in the United Kingdom, which accounts for around 5% of the UK market. Admiral Group floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004 and is currently Wales’ only FTSE100 listed company.
